Presented here are a grid of models for Blue Straggler (BS) stars using primordial binary systems with different parameters (see Lu, Deng & Zhang 2010 for details). The detailed evolutionary scenarios are followed for both components in a given system. Case A & B mass exchange processes and their effects on the evolution of the system are calculated, composite evolutionary behaviors of the binary systems in the CMD are also studied. Simulations based such a grid of models are applied to intermediate age stellar populations, specifically for M67. Our results shows that, compared with Case A only scenario in our earlier study (Tian, Deng, Han & Zhang 2006) Case B mass exchange is very important in predicting BS content in a given population, in terms of both number counts and distributions in the CMD. All models (including both Case A & B) are available in this ftp site. |
